Exemplar Creation: Credible Origins for the Next Millennium |

|
As most people surmise from reading my book, my background is primarily in science, engineering and technology. My academic claim to fame is that I was the valedictorian of my graduating high school class. After graduation I attended Northrop Institute of Technology in Inglewood, California and obtained a four-year bachelor of science degree in engineering. By attending class year round while carrying 18-19 hours per quarter, I graduated after three years in 1968. My GPA placed me near the top of my class, all the while working 20 hours per week to pay for expenses. Immediately after graduating from college I began my professional career. My first job was working for Trans World Airlines specializing in jet engine maintenance and repair. After a thirteen year stint I moved on to Emerson Electronics and Space. My next career change was to the McDonnell Douglas Corporation (missiles, smart bombs and military aircraft) and Boeing for a total of twenty-two years. These jobs exposed me to a wealth of technology, engineering and applied science. Within my area of expertise, I consider my experience second to none. I am currently retired, our three children are on their own and I am enjoying the company of my wife of over 38 years. One of the activities we enjoy together is cycling on the Katy Trail through the beautiful Missouri countryside. We live in the St. Louis, Missouri area, rich in academic culture and technology. It is home to four major universities (St. Louis University, Washington University, University of Missouri at St. Louis and Lindenwood University). In addition, the area is host to two Bible colleges and one major seminary (St. Louis Christian College, Missouri Baptist University and Covenant Theological Seminary). As an additional educational plus, our county has one of the leading library systems in the nation. I have always been a student of the Bible from my earliest years. As a Christian I believe it is important to understand what scripture teaches. Because of several relocations due to my job and other events, I have attended a number of conservative Christian churches over the years and have been exposed to seven different denominational beliefs, all with subtle differences. These have challenged me to study the scripture to seek out its truth. My ultimate loyalty is to the Bible as the word of God and to the New Testament Christian church established on the teachings of Jesus Christ. I believe every Christian should be joined to a physical body of believers (local church) to nourish their faith and encourage others. The Bible specifically teaches Christians to assemble together and exhort each other (Hebrews 10:25). So I have always sought out other Christians with whom I could fellowship and worship. Our Christian walk should not be limited to an intellectual acknowledgement of God, isolated from association with other believers. Over the years I have taught a number of adult Sunday school and Bible study classes The research involved in developing Exemplar Creation has underscored to me personally the truth of the Bible as God’s word. Genesis is truly a unique account in many respects. This writing venture has significantly enhanced my understanding of God’s word and his work.
